About Mothers and Mothers Day

Most people I personally know still have or had the privilege of knowing their birth Mothers, who also lovingly raised them. Soothed them when they were crying little infants, hugged them when they were hurting. Nursed them when they were feverish. Sang them to sleep with age old lullabies. Shared the joys of blowing out birthday candles, attending school concerts, praising them for achievements, supported them on the sports field, smiled over a good school report. Guided them through teenage rage and broken hearts, fetching and carrying them through late night escapades, first love fiascoes...always available, always ready and willing to help their offspring, support them when they needed it. Wiping children's tears even when her own heart was breaking.

So many of us have lost our Mums at a too young age, there never seems to be a right age to lose a Mum. The devastation of being motherless when you need your Mum is indescribable. So to all of you out there who still have Mums to spoil on Mothers day, please cherish her, love her, spoil her, not only on Mothers day, but every day if possible. Mothers day in South Africa was on Sunday 11 May. I only discovered all the lovely Mothers day posts and pictures the day after. Seeing that they are so lovely I had to share. Even if the official day is over, Mums are there for their children every day, be they little or grown up. So, in a small way, every day is Mothers day. Cherish your Mother, she's the only one you'll ever have.

The first lovely pic I'm sharing is of course my own Mothers day card lovingly decorated by my darling daughter, who got it  from Swee & Moo, Priceless. Of course I got spoilt with lovely gifts too.

Then, of course Woodnewz wished all Mothers a Happy Mothers day. Their boards will warm every Mum's heart.
