Woodnewz at the Home Grown Fair

Long time no blog. Long time very busy getting ready to represent Woodnewz at the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show.
What a privilege it was to be working together with the artists/designers/manufacturers of the Retro Range furniture inspired by the series "Mad Men." It's all the rage in decor circles right now, depending on one's taste.
Our display was showcased at the "Home Grown Fair" section of the 2011 House and Garden Exhibition held at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

It required months of meticulous designing, manufacturing, choosing colours etc. not to mention the photographs, admin (kindly done by Cupcake Couture) and endless meetings, stress.....pfweeeuwww!
All in all it was a great experience, yes, I mean it! Regardless of the stress and sleepness nights, it was a great
experience altogether, especially in teambuilding! It is no easy feat to be part of a family of creative people... but when you finally stand back and look at the end products you know for sure, it was all worth it. I am so proud to be part of the team!

Very interesing were the comments received from all the passers by. Some were awed. One girl gushed "I think I've died and gone to furniture heaven!" Bless her. She really loved it. Some comments....will not be repeated. Everyone is enitled to their opinion, but some have never mastered the art of diplomacy.

We had a lovely young neighbour (photo was taken before she arrived to set up)...who needed to have an old haberdashery counter restored by team Woodnewz. They did a splendid job turning the run down, filthy counter into a showstopper. Many people wanted to buy it, but it was not for sale!
